Ones We Hurt Who Still Hang On

Ones We Hurt Who Still Hang On

A Poem by Daniel Sterling

As the years pass us by

And new memories are born

Do we ever remember the ones we hurt

Do their tears and unforgotten memories

Of love now lost even matter anymore

Do we care at all anymore

For the ones we once gave our lives to

For the ones who we held

Most precious to our hearts

Do they matter anymore

Or have we simply forgotten

Refusing to care while living our own lives

Filled with newly found love and happiness

Have we forgotten the ones

Who still hang on

Deep, a lovely poem. Three wonderful stanza's, full of emotion and a great flow. I loved what you wrote here and I think people can relate to it. So, well penned!
