Time for Change

Time for Change

A Poem by Daniel Sterling

A heart that’s broken but mending slowly

Has beaten faster for you and only ever you

Yet even with the love you have provided

Still I have lingered in this familiar sad place

A dark place in which I know I don’t belong

Try as I may I can’t escape these restraining

Chains that have bound me from something

Something so free and without the struggles

Painfully I’ve dealt with for many years now

How I have dreamt of putting my senseless

Fears behind me free to live for the now

A change is due for these darkened days

Have gone without light for far too long now

The light must shine and tear thru the doubts

And worries of a life that is no longer mine

The time for a change is now at hand

A powerful poem. Time is the healer for a broken heart. I like the story and the positive ending to the poem. We won't forget the pain. Just lessons for us to appreciate when real love come. Thank you for a excellent poem.

A nice poem you written. You used good words that greatly go with each other and the emotion of facing something new is not always easy. This is a very great poem. Hope you keep writing. :)

A good poem, full of emotion and a nice flow. Loved how this captivated me until the very last word. Another of your good poems, well penned.
