This Singular Night - Debate via prose or poetry prompt - carl - missouri

A Poem by carl
"

truly a life changing moment

"

Overwhelmed by the glorious sight-

of myriad blazing stars filling the sky,

horizon to horizon

on the blackest of nights.

Immediately in the moment I understood

that earlier dark night filled only with doubt

and many fearful questions-

all unanswered until now.

“What about me, I had cried,

where do I go?

All the others have destinations

but I alone am left in this place

where I can no longer stay

and yet I have no other place to go.”

For many years

there had been no answer

until this singular night.

Filled with complete serenity I realized,

here is a time and place unknown to me-

one only you could see.

This is the place made by you,

and the way I had come

was needed too.

I had to read this poem over and over again until its effect on me wore off. I thought my questions would decrease as I read it, but on the contrary, they increased. I have no choice but to take the words here very personally, you have explained it very well. And here I will overwhelmed in my own glorious sight...

Thank you for sharing this one. Perfect poem.

Looking up at a glorious night sky and feeling a part of the majesty of life beyond our own feeble limits is truly a moment to cherish.
When no matter what goes on in our own shores, we can look up and instantly see that this whole life thing ain't that bad at all.

I am reminded of a night sky I once saw in the Arizona desert, filled with so many very bright stars that I felt awed and ridiculously miniscule.
