The First and Last of Forever:

The First and Last of Forever:

A Poem by carl

The First and Last of Forever:

Within this night is deeply set

streams of soft spoken riddles

night is warm, breeze is tame

sleeping will come but not yet.

See here earth’s true tapestry

woven in streams and woods

the creation displayed theme

of a long ago recalled dream.

Hear then the clear invitation

presented as a stellar event

come and see a magic vision

bound up within the present.

The horizon a stark silhouette

foreground is in softer tones

the tree line a flat panorama

in deeper and darkest hues.

Heaven’s stars are on parade

meadow filled with living lights

abundantly more so than ever

with swarms of fireflies in flight.

Gravitating toward assembly

caelum spin and earth collide

in deeply sentient ensemble

displaying the essence of life.

Following this memory further

to awaken a deeper pleasure

of the mindful heart supreme

in the first and last of forever.

Very well written, this poem captures a moment of quiet reflection and the profound beauty found in the natural world, suggesting that within this experience lies a deeper understanding of existence.

It includes themes of night, starlight, the interconnectedness of life, and the idea of timelessness or eternity, evoking a sense of wonder and mindfulness.

Loving the vivid imagery used as well as sensory words to enhance this poem. The "earth’s true tapestry" serves as a metaphor for the interconnectedness of all life and experiences.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem

From title to last line word choice and composition so well done to lift the reader with feelings of dreams, heaven and the small difference between. Beautiful Carl words that transend the definitions and take one to memories of past dreams. Absolutely lovely

Ahhhh!! Thank you for the nice description of a nighttime outline and the coming alive of the creatures of the night. I don't get out much after dark anymore so it was nice to read. Sara K

I think you may have hit the nail on the flat bit with this one Carl and answered the question scientists are still split over, why do we dream, or sleep at all?
They have finally figured out the last part isn't to do with conserving energy, due to its paltry 4% return, but the clue in why we dream may just be to give us insight into why we are at all and why the home we stand on is here, like a billion piece jigsaw we get snippets of information and it is left up yo us to connect the clues together.
Maybe one day we will live long enough to dream all the unimagined dreams and come to the same conclusions, but thankfully not on my watch. (Good luck with that millenials!)
