While it's true we can't please everyone, we should, at least, endeavor to agree with those whose opinions we hold in high regard. Or else, reform our earlier opinion of how much weight that critic's opinions should carry with us. In any case right and wrong are sometimes more moral opinion than fixed axioms. But trying to put a left threaded nut onto a right threaded bolt certainly won't work. That's where the rubber meets the road. Does it work? Is it applicable? An interesting write. Reality is more than a concept at that junction.

i bet you can be intimidating in real life. i respect that. a brute strikes with his fists, a truly strong man hits you with the truth. and there is nothing harder than the truth. no hand nor weapon can destroy it.
i had a history teacher in high school who was very scary but he never treated us unfairly. over time we began to like him more and more and by graduation he was the toast of the town. this verse reminds me of Mr. Chapman, a true legend.

Right and wrong are different for everybody, that is my belief, dear Carl. What is right for me may not be right for you. There is an old idiom which states that allegorically speaking, as follows: One man's meat is another man's poison. I could never tell anybody they are wrong, because in their own way, in their own mind, they are right, so it would serve no purpose. Everyone's opinion is different and they are entitled to it. Rather we should try to find a common ground which we can agree on. It is not possible to put a square peg into a round hole, but it is a waste of good energy to try. An absorbing write! I enjoyed reading and thank you for sharing, Carl...

Or, as has been said elsewhere, a soft answer turneth away wrath.
