Past - Present - Future

Past - Present - Future

A Poem by carl

Past - Present - Future:

Chose idle bargain

believed brazen spy

followed fiendish lie

hopelessly lost.

Wandering alone

present elder brother

lover unlike another

opening every door.

Usher deep inside

vanquish all sorrows

fill empty tomorrows

eternity evermore.

A very interesting and captivating write. Unique style of penning the poem, like it. Transition of situations from past to present and expectations in future, very well captured. Enjoyed the read. Thanks Carl.

thank you for the read and comment much appreciated - be well
Kipling called triumph and disaster both "imposters". But I believe the greatest imposter is death, feeding on fear of the unknown when every obvious circumstance implies that it does not even exist outside of change. Jimmy Webb wrote, "I may continue as a a single drop of rain, but I will remain and I'll be back again." I like that sort of attitude better than Thomas raging against the dying of the light while drinking himself to death. I enjoyed the read. F.

no forgiveness necessary - much appreciate your terse rehearse of my verse - take care sir -carl
Comes a time when past, present and future look at each other and recognition somehow appears as an offering. Life spreads its joys and tears and a being knows what life really means.

Such a thoughtful and sincere poem. Your final stanza says so much.

It has its moments but generally, I am far luckier than many.
I like the progression, there's a noticeable maturing in the presented thoughts as they progress.

This one has the flavor of a spiritual renewal to it. Makes me think of the lyrics of "Amazing Grace."
