Pansy Face

Pansy Face

A Poem by carl
"

encountered while walking my dog in the neighborhood.

"

Pansy Face:

Gayest pedaled pansy

sprite harbinger of Eastertide-

companion to jonquil and phlox

without fear of early frost.

Gentle spring’s fancied

vibrant smiling visage-

violet azure sun yellow hues

your beauty's not lost.

Gazing upon your face

I pause and take heart's fill-

soothing my need

divesting winter’s chill.

.

I love this tribute to the beautiful Pansy flower. Their presence graces most gardens in Ireland. I never get tired of looking at their lovely faces and always feel uplifted when I see them. You have depicted their presence so finely in this exquisite poetic gem. Thank you for sharing, Carl...

Most welcome always, Carl...
LOVE this.
I love the title.
I love how you describe this blooms beauty and the joy it brings you despite the misery one can feel being outside in the cold. One of my favourites so far :)

Nice one Carl, they are annuals but their seeds do come up anywhere they fall

Must admit that my knowledge of horticulture is limited, so I appreciated this lesson about the pansy. I will be on the lookout for them when the real spring arrives.
