Innocence:

Innocence:

A Poem by carl
"

a thought on current affairs in the Near East

"
Close to running on nothing
with expected failing near-
retribution near complete
approaching a mindless fear.

The streets are soaked in sorrow
valid exits all now blocked-
no hope for merciful hand
to stop the expiring clock.

Spoils are paid to the victor
the looser must foot the bill-
innocence the currency
now broken and lying still.

I can recall the time when backing Israel was a safe bet for a politician. Now some are accusing it of genocide. The middle east remains a suppurating wound that defies healing.

Gee
Always the innocent ones that suffer the most.
Can't imagine the help that Gaza must be for those living daily amidst death and destruction with no end in sight.
You have captured the plight of those suffering well .
