Pawns and Frogs:

Pawns and Frogs:

A Poem by carl
"

a place for everyone and everyone in their place - just came quickly as I thought about a loved ones situation.

"

Pawns and Frogs:

The kings and queens are poised

within their regal spaces

and priest and knights do sit

between castle’s empty places.

Pawns will always be pawns

It’s where their future lies

while free birds leave the ground

on wings made for the skies.

Worms become bright butterflies

by an act of God not wishes

but a frog still remains a frog

in spite of all the kisses.

The pawns will always be pawns, in a game they are not even aware is being played, nor of its rules, just defective shields for the "important ones."
If on the other hand, the games rules were fair, then the bravest of pawns could win promotion in life and perhaps bed the queen as a reward, but I doubt that the makers of such a game would take my amendments to its rules seriously.

Even frogs and caterpillars can dream of being princes and butterflies. Sometimes wishes come true but more often a realistic approach to our situation may be required. Sometimes fate just steps in and does the work for you but fate is a fickle fiddle player at best.

Seems to be a case of false advertising. What the hell happened to all the handsome princes?
