Lady Apathy

Lady Apathy

A Poem by Priya

The memory-drop: a cleaver;
The lover - nonbeliever;
When storm and dust subside
Then maybe he'll believe her.

A siren, she's a fever;
A nonchalant retriever
Of fame and sullen fortune -
An apathetic weaver.

No, she's no deceiver,
She's just a detached viewer;
And though she sends them packing,
She's a magnanimous receiver.

Though some day it may grieve her
That love might chance to leave her,
For now the past and present
Entangle to relieve her.

Hmm, I think I'm understanding this. I'm going with apathy is a positive aspect, yet people are seeing it was negative. At least, that's how it happens to me. However, I think she only puts up a front of total apathy, while she still longs for something warm, such as love. This feels to be a strong write, however I'm not sure what exactly I need to take away from it.

Putting up walls is a sure way to keep out the pain, but it also keeps out the joy... it is a defense mechanism have use sometimes in my life... I try not to know.
Anyways I liked the rhyming scheme, flow and mostly the wording.

a dissenting view here. i really disliked the continuing use of the same rhyme over and over and over. i found it distracting and boring. as if it was the point of the poem and not the subject matter. can't please everyone, i guess.

Wow! This piece flows wonderfully! I love the rhyming throughout. Lots of -er's throughout the poem:))

Apathy can truly be a defense so we do not get too over invested and therefore possibly face disappointment.....I wonder if this could be at the heart of this lovely siren.

This couldn't be any more brilliant, it flows so perfectly that I am jealous of it. Had to read it aloud twice to get the full appreciation, it was gorgeous Priya.. spectacular!
