If Love Fails

If Love Fails

A Poem by Priya

When a heart is afflicted by the seeds of love,
It spreads the disease to vein and bone;
But when love fails and sadness breaks,
The heart must shoulder it all alone.

If love be squeezed out from my last fibre,
I'll hope with every atom of my soul
That though my heart be torn to pieces,
I might someday be able to make it whole.

Though my heart may ache and my bones may break,
Though my eyes may cry and my tears run dry,
I won't give up; I won't back down;
I'll never give up before one more try.

Reading this piece at this point in my life comes very ironic. I am suffering through what you have so eloquently put into words. Whereas I am not yet to the hopeful phase, reading through your experience and positive spin slightly lessens the pain. For that, I thank you.

I'm so glad I could make someone feel even a little bit better with my words :)

You know, this is very lyrical. It would make a great song. I very much like message and depth of emotion behind it. I agree with selva, the first four lines were very good and flowed very well.
