The Power of Music

The Power of Music

A Story by Broken Hearts

Music is a powerful form of art, accomplishing the artistic desire of a musician within such a short amount of time. Life without various melodies and harmonies would be like watching a soundless movie. It has deliberately snuck into human's everyday lives. Whether we listen to it and have favorite songs or make music, it's almost impossible to say music isn't a part of our lives. Music is an intoxicating art because it unites our world, it gives us the chills, and it holds fond and bittersweet memories.

The truth is, music unites people from all over the world despite where you're from, what language you speak, or your culture. Hazart Inayat Khan once stated, "Music is the language of the soul; and for two people of different nations or races to unite, there is no better means than music." It serves as a voice to create non-existent understanding between different cultures. Music symbolizes places or historical events reflecting cultures and represents moods. It speaks words beyond our knowledge and expresses our incomprehensible thoughts everyone understands. Music is truly the key to unity in this world.

Equally important, with the right combination of chords music has the power to give us chills. This is a topic that many research and look for an answer. According to edcyphers.com, "Past research has shown that when experiencing "the chills" the neurotransmitter dopamine floods through the body." Scientists have come to many different conclusions, but never seem to find the truth. Music is tricky because it can be so unpredictable at times. It teases our brains by always keeping us on edge. When you finally hear the long awaited chord the dopamine released gives us chills. The greater the build-up throughout the song, the more chills you'll get. Listen to the right song and wait for the chills to overcome you.

Finally, music holds fond and bittersweet memories hidden within every beat. An old song has the power to evoke vivid memories for many people. They have the power to transport us back in time and space to the moment when we heard that song. It's as if music was our own time machine. For example, there may have been a certain song associated with your first love or the time you left home for good. Whenever you hear that song again, a lively movie of that event will replay. When it's associated with personal events, it triggers the memory of lyrics and experiences connected with it. Sometimes songs seem to match people's situations perfectly making the moments more memorable.

It must not be forgotten, music is a form of art that has the ability to create great meanings within minutes. It's the spice that adds flavor to our lives despite how bland it can be at times. When one considers, how it unites our world, it gives us the chills, and it holds sentimental memories, it's clear that music is the most powerful form of art.

Your play with words on the second sentence was so good, I found myself reading the sentence quite a number of times - I really was that good. The whole paragraph itself, felt like one big statement to which we all can relate to. As I read onI see that some researching hs gone on into making the piece flow so nicely to give the piece a more firmer and solid feel to it. You pulled it off with style.
A great factual filled piece which deserves to be praised - It was solid, flowed and was 'music to my ears' - excuse the pun, I just couldn't resist.
I have nothing else to add - Your words have done all the talking by speaking for themselves.

Mark.
