Abused by TechnologyA Poem by Broken HeartsLately technology has been overtaking human kind and taking control. We have lost sight of what is real and what is not.....
We are slaves,
To the screens that veil life from us. Each and every day we are pulled under the same waves, But it's not as if we are drowning for we never hear anyone fuss. Our reality is virtually blurred. TV reigns for it offers "happiness" And transforms thinking into just a word. Eyes refuse to open to see the mess. Disconnected we all have come to be. We have scripted conversations with the walls, Listen to the voices coming from Seashells hidden in our ears of people we never see. All just so we cannot hear the world around that our attention it calls. Long ago we came across an unknown dark cave, And wandered in not knowing where it would lead. Not enough light and too much darkness it gave Leaving us no way to tell what we would need. Blinded by what was on the screens, we were. Never to see how we turned into robots. Abiding by every command followed by a "Yes, Sir." Believing all words told as if they were survival knots. © 2017 Broken HeartsAuthor's Note
