Love Locked-Away

Love Locked-Away

A Poem by Iftwopoetswerestranded

How slowly the leaves

silver through moonlight

shiver beneath the eave,

of wanting now

carefully I’ll speak,

of wanting you now

I trust silence to keep,

October finds us: asking for more,

The black sky stretched over us

same frost-lit glow as last year,

waiting in the wings of trust

we fall asleep alone,

How slowly ‘long

this paved way I walk,

Dream of sunlight

tangled in your hair,

a winter spent by warm fireside,

outside midnight’s stare

through windowpanes bright

with Christmas lights,

passes"as softly as my pain.
