Music Box of Life

Music Box of Life

A Poem by GwenValentine

Its funny how life seems to keep going when things around you stop. One minute you're going around on your regular life, oblivious to the people around you; absorbed in your own thoughts, not paying attention to the details of life. You're comfortable in your bubble. But then the floor drops out from under you and you find yourself lost, and unsure. Scared and seemingly alone. But one person reaches out and grabs your hand. Tells you its okay, that you're safe and sound. And they see in you what you no longer see in yourself. At one point, you saw yourself as pretty, confident, and together. But now all you see is nothing. But that no longer is true. That person sees you as beautiful, smart, confident, and amazing. They give you hope for the future; hope for what you lost last time. They bring to your life what was lacking before and usher in a sense of right and wholesome love that can't be faked. And that's when you know that things will be alright. Because this person will be there beside you to make sure you are able to be the most you can be and more.
While they stay beside you, you know that you can never be the same without them. They're your other half. The part of you thats missing. They compliment you in every way possible. Just like the earth cannot survive without the sun, you can no longer live your life without them. From the very beginning it was never about who you lost, but who you had yet to meet. And now that you have met, your life will forever be shared between each other.
As two people, separate, come together in perfect harmony and synchronization, life begins to flow like a music box. Something beautiful comes out of the interaction between two parts meant for each other.

' From the very beginning it was never about who you lost, but who you had yet to meet.

So much of what you've expressed is true as true. Takes experience of life and all its ups and downs to prepare you for glorious togetherness! Your emotions, doubts are so sad to read. Sometimes it takes time to regain something stolen from you but.. there comes a time and... you write so contentedly!! Your words now come from such a hopeful heart.

As I read, the poem seemed familiar.. pretty sure i'd read it before and,.. I had! It's been a while.. and can only hope that times are happy as can be, now.
