Shortened Forever

Shortened Forever

A Poem by Emma Cathryn

You don't know me now,
but did you
really ever?
Turn me inside out,
I'm not feeling better.
You said you'd love me forever,
but forever was cut short.
What do I do about it?
I still love you, but see
I'm not proud about this.
You mean the world to me.
There's just one little thing,
I'm not surprised you don't see
what's in front of you now.
Don't you understand?
You just are not the man
who liked to hold my hand
and tell me he loves me.
I could be set free
if only you told me
about the possibility
that you could
really love me.

nice poem with a lot of emotion, many a time that people have felt like this. I enjoy the twist question that comes at the end which indeed does twist the thought of the reader haha...xD
