One Last Time

One Last Time

A Poem by Emma Cathryn

I'm crying myself to sleep
because you left me
without anybody.
Only if you could see
my slowing heartbeat,
it's losing me.
The cuts are too deep
for anyone to see.
They're for mine and my eyes only.
I cannot stand to peek.
My heart already has a leak,
it's about to burst.
My lungs are closing up,
the beats are getting too slow,
my voice is almost too low.
I think of you
trying to blow
one last kiss
before i go.
Then I know,
you're not really there.
I close my eyes
for one last time.
My hands lay
forever waiting
for yours to never come
and intertwine with mine.
All the doors
shut and done.
Lock them up,
cannot see.
With one last breath,
death encloses me.
I use my time,
wishing for all your lies
to have never been mine.
I close my eyes
for one last time
without you.
Still.
