Differences

Differences

A Poem by Emma Cathryn

I'm off on my own here,
but who said that's bad, dear?
The worst is done now.
You're at peace with yourself.
They'll call you imperfect,
and try to tear your down.
You're better than this,
try to stay strong now.
This life is worth it,
but it's now only night.
You may not see it,
until you turn on the light.
We are all different,
not one is the same,
and though we're reluctant,
we're all perfect in some way.
There's no one to blame,
for the way things would continue,
but it's not the end yet
and you can avoid
getting your eyes wet.
You may not be perfect,
but darling nobody really is.
We're all different.
If you shoot for the stars,
believe there's no way you'll miss.
