Memory Lake

Memory Lake

A Poem by Emma Cathryn

My arms bleed
as I cry.
This isn't a good reason,
but I tried.
You denied me
from our friendship that once was
worth everything I breathed for,
but I wanted something more
and threw it all
with my selfish ores,
rowing away from me
and most of all, you.
Splashes away the memories,
soaking our promise rings
together.
