Whisper on the wind

Whisper on the wind

A Poem by Harold Mathews

When you look
in the mirror
Can your eyes see what I see?
When you wake
in the morning...
Have I ever been in your dreams?
When you gaze
out your window
Do you ever hear my heartbeat?
When you hear
the wind whisper
Does it ever whisper my name?

If you can't understand what I'm seeing
take another look in my eyes.
If you don't understand why I'm crying
take another look in your heart.
If you can't understand what I'm saying
let me take you back to the start.

When I look
in the mirror
All I see are your eyes.
When I wake
in the morning
I've dreamed of your smile.
When I gaze
out the window
I see you in starlight.
When I hear
the wind whisper
It is screaming your name.
