This Ship is Sinking

This Ship is Sinking

A Poem by A.Crews

This Ship is Sinking

Goodnight sad prince.

You fading star.

Your lips and your heart

are bruised and scarred.

Its hard to live your life like that.

You tip your hat

to each passer-by.

You crack a smile

but inside you die.

Its hard to live your life like that.

You hope to find

Somebody to hold.

But each night, you fall

asleep alone.

Its hard to live your life like that.

This ship has sailed

and its plain to tell

that its going down.

Its swollen sides

were primped and primed

to wither and dry.
