Desire can drag you to the ground

Desire can drag you to the ground

A Poem by cretinlung

Allow me escape from these earthly bonds,

I keep growing weary of these human games.

I’d love to live in realms of connected suns.

Free me from my earthly chains.

Please permit me to see what I’ve come to be,

help me give up these illusory pains.

You come to me as complexity in unity.

Dust swarms of molecules, as above so below.

I desire to reach your heights of divinity.

So much to have seen, so far to yet grow.

Reality’s true self snickers at the game,

Meanwhile we campaign for what’s really to know.

Life as we know it keeps us quite tame,

spinning between the perfumed flesh of the papaya

and pain and punishment for not accepting the same.

Grant me freedom’s movement past melting maya,

crumbling perspectives still leave me stationary.

Perhaps next life I won’t be stuck to sigh a

breath of hesitation, frozen as a berry,

too fearful to fall, admitting death is scary.
