Your diamond

Your diamond

A Poem by Violet Chan

You are the reason for her tears,
You are the reason for my tears,
You are the one who makes her alive,
You are the one who makes me alive.

When my angel was off color,
She comforted with words
While I just prayed.
When my angel smiled,
She forgot to breathe
While I just felt warm.

Your eyes sparkled,
It gave her panic attack
while it just made me forget,
Forget this entire universe.
She made you feel special
while I just made you feel happy.

She screamed,
You noticed her,
I just stayed silent
As you hated noises
But you never noticed.

She shined day and night,
She said 'I love you too',
So she was your diamond
While I was just your glitters.

"She just made you feel special while I just made you feel happy."

Ouch. It always hurts so many when people seem to choose those that aren't right for them.

"She screamed, . . . As you hated noises, but you never noticed."

I especially liked this part. You captured the frustration that comes with trying to make sense of someone else's choices when it just seems so... wrong.
