"Girl"A Poem by MochaA poem about what it's like being an unnacepted trans guy.He is called a female, Without explaining why. But when he was born, He was given with a lie. It was like a tattoo on his forehead, That labeled him with “girl”. It burned with a passion, And left his mind in a whirl. He knew who he was, But other stated they knew him better. “You’re not a boy” they said, And proceeded to call him “her”. It was as if he was given, The things that were not his. Like clothes that did not fit, That’s how he felt when they called him “Miss”. He felt disconnected from his body, Every time he looked in the mirror. He knew who faced back, Was not at all familiar. Feminine clothes were prisons, Long hair the jail bars. They relentlessly misgendered him, As if it was written in the stars. But he knows that’s not him, And dreams of when he is older. When he can be who he is, And not be hidden by the pronoun “her”. © 2017 MochaAuthor's Note
