Wild Heart

Wild Heart

A Poem by Zoe
"

i get bored quite easily in a relationship. i want to be good.

"
The tiger stirs.
Ready to jump out of the cage of my chest.
Once sleeping contently, now awake and hungry.
Hungry for some raw...
emotion.
Some excitement at least.
All the fun is the chase,
dead prey isn't fun if you prolong
the meal.
Methodically feeding tiny scraps to maintain life,
but boredom conquers.
Temptation breaks down the bars capturing the spark
long snuffed out.
Merely a mirage of happiness, only accepting.
Imagination cannot thrive on simply
life alone.
The soul craves,
a feast of creativity and vitality.
So much more.
A tiger does not mate with a koala bear,
nature won't allow it.
Why then, will the heart let itself not be true?
Forcing love into a hypnotic state,
my tiger cannot help, but
break free.
