Asthmatic

Asthmatic

A Poem by kdbryant

Sometimes I speak a whole sentence
And every word sounds like your name
You planted splinters in my tongue
And they grew into trees just trying to bloom
And be as beautiful as you
Are with that sixth sense smile of yours
That portrait pile of thoughts
That stacks up inside your head
That sits beside your chest
Every time you forget how to breath
I wonder if its because of me

Can I take your breath away just once?
I've been asthmatic ever since you
Happened to my lungs

You happened to me you know?

Sometimes i smile and wonder whether
The world can see you
Tugging at the corners of my lips
Here you are again.
I just cant get you out
Of my fingertips.
