Faded GloryA Poem by Pyrrha RaynRead it~its kinda hard 2 explain!Faded Glory I watched as he stared with watery blue eyes… As the once proud flag hung limp and sad… Its proud stars fading into the blue… The reds and white becoming dirty and forever marked in stain. He spoke to her ever so quietly… “We are the same…you and me… Fading with the sands of time barely our mark remains… Upon this land which we took by force where did the real glory occur?” She answered humbly with a simple quiet notion… And his eyes grew with remorse as the wind tore at her soul like thieving wolves… Both old and wrinkled but filled with a beautiful glory one that’s faded into a story… He shook his head again softly “we are the same you and me” “Is this what fighting got us…?... A land pure and sweet filled with colors and songs…. No my dear friend its the loved one s touch and smile… That will always bring true glory to our land.” She smiled as her glory spoke the truth as the sun danced over her flirtatious waves… He smiled his blue eyes wrinkling like the sea… Glory may fade away, but it will never truly leave. They took that old flag down its sad shambles hanging proudly and dignified…. He died the same way and yet together this story of glory… Is forever here to stay faded and old, but never forgotten a story always told. © 2010 Pyrrha RaynAuthor's Note
