A place

A place

A Poem by Chasity
"

I really don't know how to describe this...

"

Imagine a place where
time is of no use
the trees sway with
your every step
the suns brillant light
speaks words across your face
The water dances around
you as you swim
This place would be
heaven for all who stayed
But this place is a
lie we wish we could make to
ease the sorrow of life's sad days
What would you do to
reach this place?
Some would die,to go
where things didn't hurt
I for one prefer the
pain for it makes me
feel like I'm still alive

I like the way this presents the illusion as just that, an illusion. One of my favorite quotes is this one by Charles Lamb - "Pain is life - the sharper, the more evidence of life."

Perhaps some of us are twisted in this sense or that, but at times - the pain is what lets us know we are still alive.
