The Idyll Watcher

The Idyll Watcher

A Poem by Eddy idle

Across the street there Jason sits

His mam and dad are rightly pissed

The little hero broke his wrist

And worse was done the kid he hit

“You weren’t standing up for s**t”

“You’re not a f*****g shield ya’twit”

But i feel safer cause of it

Was my defense worth all this grit

Next door Sammy feels the pits

The only frog that wasn’t kissed

The only girl with zero tits

That all the boys just must’ve missed

With trendy hair and new outfits

Not one of them would dare commit

I’m scared that she just can’t admit

That she’s worth more than swapping spit

In Daraghs house a blunt is lit

Cause carpet burn’s preferred to slits

Life’s just another easy flit

This kinda life seems to fit

So why on earth would he quit

So he rocks back and then submits

But look at me the hypocrite

The counterfeit psychiatrist

I strut and fret illiterate

As god’s chosen initiate

The looking glass is virtuous

Despite my sins that I omit

Sounds like a typical child psychologist's caseload. The speaker comes across as a burnout case, one who has seen too many of these scarred children and too little progress. Very realistic and well rhymed offering here.
