Isla Mujeres - Island of WomenA Poem by Invisible InkOn my honeymoon...in Mexico, the most beautiful land I have yet seenYou of the light green eyes that mirror the salty waves washing up the shore side, pristine and clean where I can see the shadows of my feet
in the waters that wash over you and me,
you take my hand in yours and show me the mouth of rivers
not yet seen, the soft sand underneath,
moonlight creating a halo in the darkness of the sky,
illuminating the way before and behind
where you walked over the long brown snake,
the one that Adam knew so long ago
and in the crashing, in the breeze
that blows the big palm trees,
there is a secret here, whispering in the soft wind
one that only wanderers know and have seen
about the shape of the earth and how it grows.
