Isla Mujeres - Island of Women

Isla Mujeres - Island of Women

A Poem by Invisible Ink
"

On my honeymoon...in Mexico, the most beautiful land I have yet seen

"

You of the light green eyes that mirror the salty waves

washing up the shore side, pristine and clean

where I can see the shadows of my feet

in the waters that wash over you and me,

you take my hand in yours and show me the mouth of rivers

not yet seen, the soft sand underneath,

moonlight creating a halo in the darkness of the sky,

illuminating the way before and behind

where you walked over the long brown snake,

the one that Adam knew so long ago

and in the crashing, in the breeze

that blows the big palm trees,

there is a secret here, whispering in the soft wind

one that only wanderers know and have seen

about the shape of the earth and how it grows.

This is a lovely and well written poem, great work! Thanks for entering this in my contest, and good luck. I liked how you talked about an image of someone resembled some sort of nature like, "You of the light blue eyes that mirror the salty waves". Its overall a beautiful and nicely done poem, thanks for submitting it.

This is an excellently written poem. The images, the tension, the play of senses. The emotion is strong and comes through. Very nice writing, keep it up! Me gusta mucho, y quiero a leer mas.
