Fire or Ice

Fire or Ice

A Poem by Invisible Ink
"

...

"
sands burnt my feet
every step a rattlesnake
recoiled and waiting
for just the right time
to strike my over-cooked remains
the suns i once longed for
shook their poisonous tail
lay me to waste and
baked me blind

wind watering eyes
icicles on fingertips
when the cold froze my insides
like the fish in the deep freeze
waiting to be eaten
down to the bone
creating the bare space
in between the ribs
of the spine

in the heat and in the cold
survive somewhere
rising up from a rock
a tiny seed, or a parachute
blown with a wish
and falling, whereever
it falls and it does it
in the same way

Love puts us in this dilemma the way it runs...
and interesting how cold we can feel after it burns our heart.
Frost would smile at this...

the allegory is such a unique feature of the poem... depicts about life the way it is.. very descriptive and open to lots of interpretations
