My Heart, A Book Of Losses

My Heart, A Book Of Losses

A Poem by Invisible Ink

Open my pages
unfolding in four chambers
glossy with blood
veins of words
trailing across them

My heart is full of losses
it is hollowed out
invisible
nothing to see there
but great empty spaces

Some days it just seeps in
feeling deeply
I lost the memory of me
somewhere between
112 and 129

Sometimes sadness takes
a hold of my throat
travels down to my chest
that cavernous hold
a multitude of sailing ships
writing a great V
in their wake
