Numbing It

Numbing It

A Poem by Invisible Ink
"

...

"
We weigh ourselves by hours,
the acceptability of a little red Toyota
in the aura of a street light
at two in the morning, a good plan
before the story has to change.
I check the clock again because
it is better to be safe than sorry,
because you can’t always keep it in,
sometimes you have to cut your losses,
like aiming the gun, fully-loaded,
at your head.
