Redemption Between The Sheets

Redemption Between The Sheets

A Poem by Invisible Ink
"

You can steel yourself with water or with wine,
you can lose your spirit in the art of intention,
you can feel a part of the divine,
but when it comes right down to it, baby,
there ain’t nothing you can do,
and when the s**t hits the fan,
you’ll just wish that I were part of you,
cause life ain’t nothin’ but a roller coaster,
you will take yours, I will take mine,
and we will rise and fall in a state of invention,
wishing on those f*****g falling stars above,
that meanings were apparent and
something we could define,
but wishes aren’t anything but
a pile of ash, a sort of fire that’s come undone,
up the smoke, in the smoke, you’ll say,
“I finally met my match.” to which,
I will reply, “There ain't no redemption,
except perhaps between the sheets...”
where we find, a different kind of grace,
“where all things live and all things must die.”
