Taking Leave

Taking Leave

A Poem by Invisible Ink

If I leave you now
Now is just a moment
A photographic memory
And time is slowed
Like last night's raindrops
sliding down petals
Of that flower
Which spoke to me
Since its birth,
A breath, an inhale and then
Exhale, and we begin to find
those missing pieces
That make everything
Some kind of
Symbol of our belonging
Some kind of reason
A return with a faded crown
Treading water,
A sharp and rasping sound
