AbsentA Poem by CraigAbsent,
is the arching of your foot,
a habit of restlessness,
that causes your shoe to
dangle.
Absent,
is the far off gaze in your
eyes,
a habit of daydream,
that causes your attention to
lapse.
Absent,
is the twisting and turning of
a wedding band,
a habit of desire,
that causes your heart to
wander.
Do you wish you were
not here?
Do you perchance to dream?
Of your beloved taking you far
away from here?
Of him slipping off your shoes
caressing and kissing your toes,
as a prelude to love made upon
the grassy hill?
Is that why you are absent
from here? © 2016 CraigAuthor's Note
