Forsaken Road

Forsaken Road

A Poem by Craig John Edwards

Forsaken Road

-

Do you think you will be good enough

To walk down the road of the forsaken

Will the unholy call your bluff

Gamble your soul to be taken.

Close your eyes and hold your breath

Count every step you take

Until you reach death

And then you are awake.

Shivers at that last line...simple but beautiful. Is this an interpretation of life's journey or something more?
