Soul Searching

Soul Searching

A Poem by cquig
"

Just a poem

"

I feel heavy with burden and self

My soul  has been stowed away on a shelf

The journey to discover it’s hiding place has yet to even start

I hear so often, and often laugh when I’m told it begins in the heart

My brain will lead me to the truth, because the truth is my heart is broken

But if I’m left without my soul at least I will have spoken

I’ll wander, wondering, just where I went so wrong

But I refuse to make you suffer, well at least not for long

Scream and Shout!
A Poem by Tate Morgan
The heart never sleeps like the mind. Forever it twists and turns.
The heart never sleeps like the mind.
Forever it twists and turns.
When the mind has had enough.
The heart of love still burns.
__________________________________

The mind will tell the heart to tether.
It's feelings on a string.
The heart always thinks it knows better.
How to make life's chorus sing.
___________________________________

These two dance through life together.
Two parts of just one soul.
Each searching for love of another.
While chasing a different goal.
____________________________________

The mind pays heed the hearts true feelings.
Cautioning us to beware.
But when in need it's hearts desire.
That takes the risk to dare.
___________________________________

Is it so strange those we admire?
Seem always to take that chance.
Throw caution to the wind.
Get up and learn to dance!

Many a man has followed his mind.
To turn hearts love asunder.
But he never knows of beauties bliss.
And of love will always wonder.
__________________________________

The mind is not the final judge.
Of what this life is about.
Better to not die with a whimper.
But to live to scream and shout!

yes - that last line is the paydirt - lit is where the narrator's tru spark shows, as if there is sadness and regret - and then at the very end is a spark of hmmm spunk and life, proof that the narrator will move on and be fine

I like this =] I found this to be really truthful and heartfelt. I could actually envision someone saying the last line to someone for some reason. I can relate to this poem. Great write!
