Fire in the Hills

Fire in the Hills

A Poem by Crispy

Burn~!

Whipping tongues leap gripping rungs of dry splinter
Crackle-snapped, vanquish falls of downed lives crush

Leaping demons whip on crusty breeze billows
that roar unknowing torment and torture

The hillside falls--
Rock crush wicked cascade scars gash
bone-grind fractures down her backside

Blood soddered in the vicious hiss
of wicked shitpiss staining neck-snap bowels

Oh, but the howls!
Such howls that pierce
The soul with the pain
of a sane man gone fierce

Mushroom clouds bloom psychedellic jellyfish broom closets
Gushing fume-plume rosetting doom toxic pox fidget gloom rushings

A red eye peers
So long dear sun
Set your deathwhisper crushed crystal glimmer
down, and be done

Ash, ash
Ash in the lungs
Coughing mucus flung cluster muck upon the young

Hacking out the nasty fast and easy world we won
Pass along the skeletons of all we’ve left undone
Charred human flesh for breakfast
Gather round a dying sun

And thank the lord for wall and sword
And luxuries the dead afford
And misery we must ignore

Down your deathwhisper stainglass dinner
Have some more…

This world is burning
Burning, burning

No sense in fighting forward
Not with all the misty quickened rights we can’t afford

this reminds me of Hiroshima---the dropping of bombs, the nuclear waste that comes from winning wars, and the waste of innocent lives...war is never worth it...but we keep fighting forward, and thinking as Dylan wrote---we "have god on our side."
but are there really good guys when it comes to war?

well, this is where i went with this poem...terrific write.
