The Suburbia MuseA Screenplay by Casner PWhat happens when you finally see your own worth and potential through someone else's eyes?
Timothy Kerr is a meek meandering 24 year old aspiring writer, who is seemingly held back by his low class suburb (known as the "The Black Hole") and those who inhabit it. He's in a loveless long term relationship with a demanding girlfriend, works a 9-5 job that he hates, and puts in minimal effort at his English night class, taught at an often ridiculed community college.
His girlfriend of 3 years, Samantha Schultz is a self absorbed preschool teacher, who was born into a wealthy Jewish family. Samantha (and her family) believe that Tim should let go of his "idealistic" dream of becoming a writer, and join them in their lavish upper class life. Cassy "Cas" P is a blunt, witty, and magnetic classmate of Tim at their local community college. Cassy is also a waitress at the local pub, that often holds "Open Mic" nights where young local aspiring writers go to share their work. Cassy believes that Tim can be the so-called "golden child" and cult hero of their local suburb; he can be the one to make it out "The Black Hole" and challenge the status quo. Is it possible to finally see your own worth and potential through the eyes of someone else? Or will you allow your environment to force you to acquiesce to their black and white standards? Will you conform to society, or will society to conform to you? I don't know, ask The Suburbia Muse. © 2015 Casner PAuthor's Note
