No ChurchmatesA Poem by OydrinAn attempt at dark humor
After a long time of agnosticism,
I finally decide to subscribe to a faith. It has rituals of virtues and positive habits, with happiness and patience on the side. I awkwardly go through the motions, as they are altogether new; And knowing its precepts to be true, I continue to push through despite discomforts. The short and the sweet for the sake of keeping my feet on the ground is this: I've decided to believe and act on the fact that I finally believe in myself, Even in the face of desolations, Or feelings of unmet expectations, Or just the simple knowledge of a certain situation, that as yet, and of late, There still isn't a churchmate. © 2021 Oydrin |
