The Corollary ClownA Story by OydrinMy attempt at humor and sarcasm... and at glorifying certain kinds of buffoonery.PARODIZING PUNCTUATION IS POWERFUL: The Corollary Clown Edition -- because buffoonery is at its peak when it's both annoying and amusing. An English professor wrote the words, "A woman without her man is nothing" and asked the students to punctuate it properly. LADIES: A woman: without her, man is nothing. GENTLEMEN: A woman, without her man, is nothing. A furious debate ensued between the sexes. Meanwhile, the class clowns and comedians who found the commotion no laughing matter attempted to diffuse the situation. One of them went to the board to write, "I'm always thinking about you joke" But even the comedians were divided into two factions when they punctuated, namely, THOSE AT PEACE WITH THEIR BUFFOONISH NATURE: I'm always thinking about you, joke. THOSE IN DENIAL: I'm always thinking about you. Joke! The professor then opted to dismiss the class early with the conclusion in his mind, that too much clarification can work to blur the lines, when there's too much punctuation trying to speak between the lines. © 2021 Oydrin |
