PermissionsA Poem by OydrinAny relationship entails that people are on the same page. Mutual understandings apply not only to romantic and sexual partners. We ought to be as intentional and respectful with friendships too.If you hear a knock on your door,
And you think that it's me, Then give me a "ring" For I promised to tell first By whatever means if I'd come, Including a "ping" For I well know the dangers Of crashing the gates, One big lesson that lately I've learned So if you let me in, I'd be gladdened, Aware of the honor that's been earned And I knock on your door Making known loud and clear To your heart that I want to be there Yes, with every intention The pure and impure, I have come, But I lay them all bare There is no other trick Causing sharp ears to prick And no scheme brewing under your nose Save the limit that all Stay both proper and true, I present you myself, I suppose It's for you to assess If there's any excess Unto any I offer to you But you well be aware While there's both of us here That I'm doing the same thing too For it's my heart I've opened Before I have sought The permission to knock at your door And you know very well, Even idiots can tell The few things that I came to you for Yes, it's my heart that's opened, And gladly it is, so please, Don't leave me out here cold For I'd gladly give you The affection the lasts, That gets flourished, and better when old © 2022 Oydrin |
