Shots to the Heart

Shots to the Heart

A Poem by Oydrin

Inspired by gorgeous sights I thrive,
Which makes inspiration shallow
That shots of brandy exaggerates
Like it does to everything else
For I'm yet to meet a gorgeous sight
That proves itself to be genuine
That a glass of water cannot drown
Whether or not it is swallowed
And if in this lifetime I meet such a face
I'm praying so hard to be sober
So that I may meet that face
With a sense that is good and right
For the irony of things, if the word's correctly used
Is that one is not half so genuine
As when one's in that state of sobriety
Knowing itself to be a half drunk.
