100 Feet Under

100 Feet Under

A Poem by Jose Rivera
"

Again, another random poem written after the inability to sleep.

"

100 feet under

200 feet below.

300 feet I wonder

Will this decent ever slow?

The depth begins to crush me….

A feeling I have always known.

Thud, to the bottom of the world

Above me only possibilities

Failure I have not been willing to show

Smile on my face, my heart begins to slow

Breaths turn into echos

Visions turn into black

300 feet to the top

200 feet now below

100 feet to the world again

Will this ascent ever slow?

Sleep evades me often and I end up here. What a beautifully mysterious write that illicits a surreal train of thought. I really enjoyed this Jose. Regards Rach x
