The American Dream

The second chapter in the Andre Otherton

 Andre Otherton woke up with a splitting headache, he looked around and realized he was in the woods he was in before. He saw that the car and George were missing.

        "Oh, great. Thanks David, thanks a lot" he said as he got up. He noticed his shirt was torn from his chest to his bellybutton and that he was healed of all the stuff that happened, no broken bones and no cuts. He saw that there was a red smear on his chest and it wouldn't come out when he tried to rub it out with his hand. He started walking the path he figured he came in on.

        He saw a waterfall he didn't see before and went over there. He tore the sleeve of his shirt off and soaked it. He tried to wash the red smear off but it wouldn't come off. He decided to just keep on walking and he finally got out of the woods to see he was in the city of hope and realized he was back in his universe.

        Andre walked onto the nearest sidewalk. A black van suddenly appeared. Two guys with brass knuckles made of legis metal punched him and knocked him out. When he woke he realized he was in the van surrounded by the two guys who knocked him out and two other guys, one in a suit.

         "Guessing from the way you just kidnapped me and the legis metal, you guys are from the wave." Andre said.

        "Yes," said the one in the suit.

        "How did you find me?" 

        "We have a machine that monitors elemental energy and when we saw a spike as big as the one you caused we knew it was you,"

        "How?" 

        "The wave in the parallel universe you were in communicates with us through a rift," 

        "Of course they do," he groaned. "Listen, whatever you want me to do you can forget it,"

        "I know you and the wave haven't been on the best of terms but.."

        "Let me out," Andre interrupted.

        "What if we give you David and the elemental's location," Andre thought about the deal that was offered.

        "Fine," he finally agreed.  "What do I have to do?"

        "Yeah, I heard the elemental was your brother,"

        "What do you want me to do?" Andre asked

        "Kill a man who stole from our weapons division and call us on this phone in the contacts," he said tossing a cellphone to Andre

        "What did he steal?" Andre asked.

        "A chip that the person puts on the back of their neck. It generates and manipulates legis metal for the wearer to use as."

        "Don't you have anyone better to capture than someone whose only weakness is what this guy generates?" Andre retorted

        "No," the man in the suit said coldly.

        "How will you be able to find me after I kill him?" 

        "The chip emits an energy when the wearer is alive and when you kill the subject we will see that the energy is gone and we will come pick you up."

        "Who is the idiot who stole this, anyway?" Andre asked

        "His name is William S. Corral. He's from Louisiana and..."

        "Ok, I got it." Andre interrupted again. " Where can I find him?"

        "In the forrest we are about to dump you in,"

        "Great, I love the forrest," They quickly threw him out of the truck and sped away. Andre quickly realized he was in the woods about three miles from where he was transported to by his brother. He always liked the brown and green of the forest because it calmed his soul.

        Andre started walking. After walking a couple of miles two tentacles of green legis metal came out of the ground and wrapped around Andre's hands and feet. A man covered from the neck down in thin blue plastic wires came out from behind a tree. The skin that wasn't covered looked like it was moving. Andre also noticed the man had a big nose, eye patch on one of his blue eyes, floopy ears and long dirty blonde hair. Andre saw the legis tentacles were connected to him. 

        "So your the one the wave sent to kill me," William said. He stood in front of Andre and punched him across the face. Andre swiftly kicked William in the balls and than headbutted him. Red blood started gushing out of William's forehead. Andre quickly realized the tentacles were loose. He quickly released himself from the binds and grabbed a rock and bashed it into the side of William's head which caused more blood to spurt out.

        Andre saw under William's blood and skin was blue wires. His skin quickly healed itself. Andre swiftly kicked him in the knee and he saw the white of his bone break through the blue wires. A thought suddenly popped into Andre's head.

        "What happened to George?" Andre thought to himself. It took that seven seconds that Andre was distracted for William to gain strength and punch him with a fist wrapped in blue legis metal rope. Andre saw that William's bone went back in. Andre quickly grabbed William's throat and slammed him into the ground. A tentacle swooped in and cut Andre's right shoulder. The pain the legis metal caused  Andre to roll over in pain.

        Andre mustered up all the strength he could and grabbed one of William's tentacles and slammed him against a brown tree. He let go of the blue tentacle and saw that William was laying face down in the dirt. Andre slowly walked towards his body to grab the chip on his neck. He than noticed William getting up. Andre gave him a quick and delivered a swift knock out punch.

        Andre slowly walked towards William's body to get the chip off his body. All of the sudden Andre feels one of the tentacle wrap around his waist and throw him into a tree.

        Andre quickly got up with more determination than ever to get that chip. He saw that William was getting, he quickly ran over to him and kicked him in the skull. William spitted up a mouthful of red blood.

        William quickly rolled onto his back and pulled his jean sleeve up. Andre saw a ankle holster on William with a gun with legis metal bullets. Before he could tuck for cover William shot him. The bullet blew a chunk out of his right cheek and passed right below his ear. He fell over in agonizing pain.

        Andre used most of his strength to get up and than he used what remain to punch William square in the jaw. Andre saw William spit out some slightly yellow teeth. One of William's tentacles heated itself up and scorched Andre right through his shirt.

        Andre realized for the first time since he arrived to run away. He quickly ran and got to the edge of a cliff. He turned around and saw William charging at him.

        Andre quickly charged at William before he could realize and punched him to the ground. Knocking him out, Andre quickly realized this is the time. He ran to the body and grabbed it. He ran over to the cliff and threw him over it. Andre pulled out his cellphone and called the only contact in the phone.

        "It's done," he said. He waited for a couple of minutes before the same black van from before parked in front of him. The same old man as before stepped out wearing the same black and white pinstripe suit as before. 

        "Where's the body?" he asked.

        "Look down that cliff," Andre said. He walked to the side and looked down the side of the cliff. Andre quickly walked up behind him.

        "Now," he said with a stone cold voice. "Where is my brother?"

well contrary to Jenthura over here, I find it very captivating...there are just a few points the reader has to make small intuitive leaps but personally I love that in any story! Well done :)

Nice action, but you need to work on consistency and imagery; the flow of the plot is not clear, and I don't understand this 'Wave" concept of yours.
