A roof from 1946 to today

A roof from 1946 to today

A Poem by lee von cleef

Route 66, Flagstaff Arizona
Indians die,
Cops load em,
Livestock,
Alive, three abreast,
Free in the Back seat of the cruiser cage,
Take the long way to the station,
Full of hard cuts, stops, swerves, zigs, and zags,
Railroad Tracks.

There on the roof,
Club 66,
Turquoise,
Lead based paint.
Empty bottles hidden chest deep,
Thunderbird ,
Twister,
Mad dog 20 20,
Screw-tops long gone,
There on the roof of,
Lives lost.

Get your Kicks on Route 66.

A slice of time indeed. Nevertheless 'Thunderbird' still tastes like it always did & JK who claims to have gone blind supping it like he did wrote some good stuff in my book.

I enjoyed this read & it took me back to when my own kids begged me to take them along the same route.
