Bare

For what can a man give in return for his life?

I like to think we should all...
Add to the whole of life,
Not take away from it.
Then I look at myself ....
As a surfer, just riding the wave,
I look at myself .....
As a pilot fish sucking a ride with the sharks....
Myself .....
Empty...
From giving all of me to those who inspired .
Diego said "Extend the light"
I think he is right.
Their negative words pass through me
But "they" take...
Bits and chard's of my humanity as they lash past...

Having those we encounter affect us whether it be negative/positive, is the gift/curse of the human experience. It also is a potent fuel in the hands of poets and you've expressed a side of that here wonderfully.

You are like me Lee in that I have been inspired by others here, and have at times transformed the essence of my own reviews --- and thoughts --- into poem. Humanity bares it's soul and gets bitten by the piranhas. Yet, God says we all have a purpose....

I think you feel hurt because his light at times can become too bright. We flinch in pain in knowing his love is our gain, despite the pain.
