Red rocks and lullabies
Nightcaps and goodbyes If I had a bottle if I had a gal if I could dance I will clean up I will fold the chairs I will sweep the parties litter, Nightcaps and goodbyes At the doors Of cars ,of bars ,of her journeys end Red rocks and lullabies Broom-skirts and tall boots Two step, so smooth my hand On the soft of her back If dancing was crying if wind wouldn't blow if lungs wouldn't heave I would bring you back I would wrap you up , then let you spin Broom-skirt tall boots smiling at the crowd Powder blue eyes, Flowers across the pine Tall pines make dance floors Flowers make Broom-skirts Tall pines bend in my sky if dancing was crying... Her eyes were powder blue If Dancing was crying if wind wouldn't blow if lungs wouldn't heave Alone not lonely only a Pine Soul in a casket. © 2013 lee von cleefAuthor's Note
