American Freedom

American Freedom

A Poem by lee von cleef
"

Roots

"
Perfect aim
Concealed Carry test.

Cochise his warriors hidden in the Dragoon Mt.Stronghold
His Tribe required the heads of households
To maintain a firearm
and the ammunition to use it....

If only he could of had some Howitzers to challenge
The fighters at "Apache Pass"
The "Pitched" battle could of tilted another way

Another freedom stood that day
Today we are bound by those lost , those won battles,
Bound by  Freedom

Satellite blankets and genetic corn.

Befitting and such a beautiful resting place, may he ride the wind of the wild mustangs, free to roam as he chooses, sometimes we fight the good fight, sometimes we win , sometimes we lose, a man's worth and measure after death is in the eyes of his children and those who loved him, tall in the saddle he is. peace to you.

OK Joan Wayne, I like Tall in the saddle, and the measure of men, by women in corsets after dark.

Are we truly free my friend, or are we ever indebted to those who have come before to grant us this freedom as it was won with blood, sweat and tears? We are bound in a good way by this yoke of freedom, to those who owned this land of ours....the brave warriors who fought the battles in the ways they knew, with the weapons they had crafted, the arms they had been given supposedly to keep them safe......but, in the end.....who was free? George Washington spoke of "A free people" as you mention, but those attacked were the victims of what?
This is a thought provoking write. I am proud to be a free American, but I cringe at the thought of how we have gained it during times as this!
The photo of your father's ashes is very touching!!
